It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred Willard, who passed away on 15 May 2020 at the age of 86. Born in 1939 to Nora Marie and Frederick Willard, Fred was a beloved American actor, comedian and writer. He appeared in hundreds of films, television shows and other works, often portraying supporting roles that allowed him to showcase his unrivalled talent for comedy improvisation. Fred will be remembered for his films, such as Best In Show, This Is Spinal Tap and the Anchorman movies, as well as his appearances on classic television shows like Everybody Loves Raymond, Modern Family and Roseanne. He was also well-known for his hosting work on What’s Hot What’s Not, Trust Us With Your Life and Hollywood Squares. He received many awards, including Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his appearances on Modern Family. Fred will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary, sons Howard and Stuart, daughter Hope, and many close family, friends and fans.
