Eva Braun (born February 6th, 1912 - died April 30th, 1945) was the longtime mistress of Adolf Hitler and wife for a brief period of time at the end of his life. She was born in Munich, Germany and grew up with a conservative Roman Catholic upbringing. Braun first met Hitler in 1929 when she was 17 and working as an assistant and model for Hitler’s personal photographer. The two had an intimate relationship that lasted more than a decade. On April 29th, 1945, Braun married Hitler in a small civil ceremony inside his bunker. The following day, Braun and Hitler, both 33, reportedly took their own lives in the bunker. Across the world, Braun is remembered as the longtime companion of the Nazi leader, who is seen as responsible for the death of more than 50 million people across the world.
