With sad hearts, the family of Desmond Daniel Amofah, better known as YouTube personality Etika, mourns his passing on June 22, 2019. Etika was a beloved content creator and was 29 years old at the time of his death. He was an avid video gamer and was a positive voice within the gaming community. Etika was born on May 12, 1990 in Brooklyn, New York. Growing up, Etika had an interest in video gaming, computers, and hip-hop. He started his YouTube channel in 2012 and became increasingly popular for his gaming commentary, comedic sketches, and online social justice advocacy. He is survived by his mother, father, and two younger siblings. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and countless followers.
