Ernest Hemingway, award-winning novelist, short story writer, and journalist, died in Ketchum, Idaho on July 2nd, 1961. He was 61 years old. Hemingway was a Pulitzer Prize winner and Nobel Prize in Literature recipient for his writing, which included acclaimed works such as The Sun Also Rises, The Old Man and the Sea, and For Whom the Bell Tolls. He was widely respected in the literary community, and his unique style of writing, commonly referred to as the "Hemingway Code", had a major influence on generations of writers. The author is survived by his wife, Mary Hemingway, his sons Patrick, Gregory, and John, and his sons-in-law, Donald and Chester. Ernest Hemingway will be remembered as a passionate voice in 20th century literature. His works will continue to be enjoyed by readers for years to come.
