It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8th 2022 at the age of 96. Queen Elizabeth II reigned for over 70 years, making her the longest-serving Monarchs in Britain's history. She was born in London on April 21st 1926, as the first child of the then Duke and Duchess of York, and was later crowned Queen of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and 12 other Commonwealth countries on June 2nd 1953. Elizabeth II was a constant and unifying presence for her country, inspiring love and admiration across her reign. She worked diligently for her people and passionately supported numerous charities and campaigns, always offering her hope and courage during difficult times. During her lifetime, the Queen granted over 336,000 audiences and completed 250 Royal Tours- visiting more than 120 countries. Through her leadership, philanthropy and approach to life, she has had a significant and positive impact on her people, her government and many forceful world leaders. She leaves behind her husband, The Duke of Edinburgh; her four children, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward; her eight grandchildren; and her seven great-grandchildren. Our beloved Queen Elizabeth II will be remembered fondly, standing tall in the hearts and minds of all Londoners.
