Edsel Bryant Ford, born on November 6, 1893 in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on May 26, 1943. He served as the President of Ford Motor Company from 1919 until his death in 1943. Edsel contributed immensely to the automotive industry as a whole. He is credited with introducing the first affordable V8 engine for the Model A in 1932, as well as the 50th Anniversary Model A in 1932. He tirelessly advanced the production methods at Ford factories, successfully introducing both the assembly line and interchangeable parts to the industry. Throughout his life, Edsel embraced the ideals of efficiency and product quality. He was driven to keep up with the times and to continuously challenge the status quo. He is survived by his wife Eleanor Lowthian Clay and his five children Henry, Benson, Josephine, William, and Marcella. His legacy lives on through his children and his contributions to the motor industry.
