Don Knotts, beloved actor and comedian, passed away on February 24, 2006 at the age of 81. Knotts was born July 21, 1924 in Morgantown, West Virginia. After serving in the US Army during WWII, he began a long and successful career in show business, with breakthrough roles in the "Andy Griffith Show" and "The Steve Allen Show". His comedic timing, physical humor, and unique style of delivery earned him 5 Emmy awards throughout his career. He appeared in over 25 films, most notably "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" and the "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken", which further established his unique comedic style. Knotts' career achievements and contribution to comedy will be remembered for generations to come. He is survived by his son, Thomas, and his daughter, Karen.
