On October 16th, 2007, beloved actress and icon Deborah Kerr passed away after a valiant fight against Parkinson's disease. She was at the age of 86. Deborah Kerr was born in Helensburgh, Scotland in 1921. She was an accomplished dancer before transitioning to acting and starting her career in 1941. Throughout her career, she acted in a number of movies, including The King and I, An Affair to Remember, From Here to Eternity, and The Innocents. She acted in numerous plays, too, including The Way of The World, Heartbreak House, and Separate Tables. Kerr received six Academy Award nominations throughout her career, and was the winner of multiple Golden Globe Awards, BAFTA Awards, and honorary awards for her outstanding performances. Kerr's acting career spanned over 60 years. She charmed audiences and left a lasting impact on the world of film and theatre. Kerr will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her bravery in overcoming personal struggles, and her grace on and off stage. She left behind a rich legacy of living life with dignity and courage, a love of the arts, and a commitment to life and the people she encountered. She will be greatly missed.
