It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Dean Paul Martin, beloved son of singers, actor and entertainer, Dean Martin and Jeanne Martin, on March 21, 1987. He was 35 years old. Dean Paul Martin was born on November 17, 1951 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and spent most of his early life in Encino, California. He excelled in skiing, snowboarding, and martial arts and was an accomplished Air National Guard Pilot until his untimely death. Dean Paul Martin graduated from the Air Force Academy and served as a fighter pilot in the Air National Guard in 1982. In a tragic accident, he lost his life at the age of 35 when his F-4 plane crashed near Bishop, California due to an engine malfunction. He was posthumously awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart for extraordinary achievement and heroic action. He is survived by his father, Dean Martin Jr; his mother, Jeanne Martin; his two sisters, Deana Martin & Ricci Martin and his two brothers, Craig Martin and Gail Martin. His infectious smile, radiant warmth, and sense of humor will live on in all of our hearts forever.
