Clementine Churchill (née Hozier; 1 April 1885 - 12 December 1977) passed away peacefully in Kensington, London, at the age of 92. The daughter of an army officer, Clementine was born in Kent, England and attended the Society of Oxford Home-Students, later earning an associate degree from Somerville College, Oxford. Her lasting legacy began on her wedding day, 12 September 1908, when she married Winston Churchill, the man who would become Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. She was a dedicated companion and political partner to him and even acted as a sponsor to the Conservative Party in her later years. Clementine will be remembered for her passion in social reform and her trusted counsel to her husband during his premiership. She was a devoted champion of the people and was admired widely. Her work has inspired and empowered many who continue to carry forth her message of tolerance and justice. Clementine is survived by five grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
