Christopher Robin Milne, the beloved son of author A. A. Milne and the inspiration for the character of the same name in the classic "Winnie-the-Pooh" books and stories, passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on April 20, 1996. Born in London, England, on August 21, 1920, Christopher inspired his father to create the beloved and timeless stories of the Hundred Acre Woods. As a child, he was known to explore the woods with his father with his beloved Pooh-Bear. Though he was best known as the inspiration of the stories of Christopher Robin and Winnie-the-Pooh, Christopher had a life of his own; he fought in World War II as a Hawk in the Royal Air Force and went on to study mathematics at Cambridge. Later, he went on to become a successful bookseller and local bookstore owner, while writing several of his own books. Christopher will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the generations of fans who have been charmed by the timeless stories he inspired.
