Christopher Evan Welch, actor and writer, passed away on December 2, 2013 at the age of 48.
Born on July 23, 1965 in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Chris had a diverse career spanning television, film, and theatre. He attended The College of William & Mary before enrolling at Yale University, and his theater career began in the early 1990s with productions on both coasts.
Chris made his acting debut on television in 1993 as a guest star on the crime drama Law & Order. He later went on to appear in numerous other television shows such as The X-Files, Once And Again, NYPD Blue, ER, 7th Heaven, and more. He appeared in over 30 television roles throughout his career.
Chris was also a noted film actor. He appeared in films such as Traffic, Sleepers, I Heart Huckabee's, The Stepford Wives, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Internship, and his last film, Jobs.
In addition to his television and film work, Chris was an avid theater actor. He appeared in stage productions such as Homebody/Kabul, Impossible Marriage, Fully Committed, and Acts of Charity. His last stage role was in the Off-Broadway production of Alan Ayckbourn’s Relatively Speaking in 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Cline, and two children.
