Charles Bukowski was an American writer and poet known for his unglamorous portrayals of life in Los Angeles and his hard-living lifestyle. He published more than 50 books of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction, and his work has been translated into more than 20 languages. Bukowski died of leukemia on March 9, 1994, at the age of 73.
