Chandra Bahadur Dangi, of Nepal, passed away on September 4th, 2015 at the age of 75. Chandra was renowned globally for his short stature, having been recorded officially as the shortest living man in history at a height of 54.6 cm. He held the Guinness World Records title for being the shortest human ever. Born in 1939 and raised in a remote village in Nepal, Chandra was a humble, gentle man who lived most of his life in relative poverty. In 2012, at the age of 73, his title won him recognition from the Guinness World Records organization. Chandra will be remembered for his shy smile, unassuming nature and perpetual positive outlook despite his physical challenges. He is survived by his brother, daughter and grandchildren.
