Bruce Lee was a Hong Kong and American actor, director, martial artist, and philosopher. His career began when he primarily acted in Hong Kong films, but he eventually rose to international acclaim with his iconic performance in the 1971 film "Fists of Fury." He went on to star in the 1973 hit film, "Enter the Dragon," which was released shortly after his death and cemented his place in the annals of the martial arts movie genre. Lee was born on November 27, 1940 in the district of San Francisco in California. As a child, Lee was very active in martial arts and eventually achieved the rank of "Master" by the age of 18. At the age of 20 he returned to Hong Kong after attending college in the US. It was in Hong Kong where he began his career as an actor and set up his own school for martial arts. Through his acting and philosophy, Lee was able to share his dynamic approach to martial arts, philosophy, and film with worldwide audiences, inspiring countless in the fields of art, philosophy, and of course, martial arts. Bruce Lee's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of his fans and students.
