Brian Christopher Pillman (1962-1997), wrestler and author, died on October 5th, 1997 at the age of 35. Brian began his professional wrestling career with the Calgary-based Stampede Wrestling. In 1989, he signed with the World Wrestling Federation and was part of the tag team "The Hart Foundation." His career then took him to World Championship Wrestling, where he achieved his greatest success. Throughout his career, Brian became well known for his unique blend of wrestling and mixed martial arts. Known as the "Loose Cannon," Brian was often known to break the rules and push boundaries. Brian was a multiple-time winner of the Professional Wrestling Illustrated Most Improved Wrestler award, and was inducted into the St. Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2014. Brian is survived by his wife, Melanie, and three sons. He will be remembered for his contributions to the art and science of professional wrestling.
