Bonnie Franklin, an iconic American actress, passed away on 2013-03-01 in Los Angeles at the age of 69. During her career, Franklin starred in several award-winning television productions including the hit sitcom, One Day at a Time. Born in 1944 in Santa Monica, California, Franklin started her career early at the age of 13 in a Broadway production of Madeline Regan and the Boys. She achieved fame in 1970 when she landed the beloved role of Ann Romano on One Day at a Time for which she received two Golden Globe nominations. Throughout her career, Franklin starred in other shows such as The Fitzpatricks, Unhappily Ever After and Greenwich Hill. Franklin was an important member of the Broadway community and in Los Angeles, inspiring generations of young viewers. Despite her achievements, she was always humble and was known for her warm personality. Franklin is survived by her mother, Claire Franklin, her brother, Stuart , and her niece, Samantha Hill.
