Bobby Riggs, world-renowned professional tennis player, passed away on October 25, 1995, at 77 years old. An American native, Bobby was born in Los Angeles in 1918. Throughout his illustrious tennis career, Bobby enjoyed immense success, earning 12 Grand Slam titles, a mantlepiece full of trophies and medals and becoming number one in the United States tennis rankings. Bobby was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1967. In addition to his accomplishments in tennis, Bobby proudly served in the United States Navy in World War II and was later bestowed with an honorary mention in the Meritorious Service Medal. Bobby was widely admired for his sporting prowess and vibrant personality. He will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and fans.
