It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Charles "Bobby" Darin, on Thursday, December 20, 1973. He was 37 years old. Bobby was an accomplished American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor in film and television. He kept busy all throughout the '50s and '60s with recordings, movies, and various stage shows. His efforts were rewarded with Grammy and Golden Globe Awards, as well as other awards and recognitions. Bobby is best remembered for his hit songs "Mack the Knife", "Beyond the Sea", "Splish Splash", and "Dream Lover". His unique brand of music blurred the lines between rock 'n' roll, jazz, and pop. He also acted in films such as "Come September", "Captain Newman, M.D", and "If a Man Answers". His television work includes guest appearances on various programs, including recurring roles on "The Feather and Father Gang" and "Route 66". Bobby is survived by his wife, Christina, his son, Dodd Mitchell, and his mother, Vanina. He will be greatly missed.
