Elizabeth Short (February 29, 1924 – January 15, 1947), more commonly known as "The Black Dahlia," died at the age of 22. Gaining notoriety through a highly publicized and gruesome crime, Short was born in Hyde Park, Massachusetts in 1924 and grew up in Medford before eventually moving to California. Short lived a short life but will forever be remembered for her unfortunate end, whereby she suffered severe trauma and was found dead in Los Angeles on January 15, 1947. To this day, her murder remains unresolved. Elizabeth Short's life ended tragically but her memory will never be forgotten by the community, and her death remains a mystery.
