Bernard Francis Law, 86, passed away on December 20th, 2017. Born to the late Christopher and Ceryl Law in Mexico City, Mexico in 1931, he was one of five siblings. Law was an accomplished Catholic Cardinal and Archbishop of Boston between 1984 and 2002. He was ordained as a priest in 1961 and held several posts throughout the United States before joining the College of Cardinals in 1985. As an advocate for Catholic practice, Law served the church of Rome for many years and was integral to developing and expanding the Church's presence in the United States. He was a voice of reason in turbulent times and a staunch defender of Catholic principles. Law was named a member of the Pontifical Commission of Justice and Peace in 2002 and was made a cardinal in the same year. He is survived by two of his siblings, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed but fondly remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
