Bernard Edwards, legendary bassist and producer, passed away on April 18th at the age of 43. Born in Greenville, North Carolina, Bernard had a passion and talent for music from an early age. He began his professional career in 1979, when he founded the band Chic with Nile Rodgers, with whom he would go on to achieve massive success. Bernard's distinct bass playing and production skills quickly found popularity, resulting in the band being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. During his career, he produced and performed on classic records such as Diana Ross' 'Upside Down', Madonna's 'Like a Virgin', Duran Duran's 'The Reflex', and Sister Sledge's 'We Are Family'. His influence on the music industry has been undeniable. Bernard was successful both as a member of an iconic band and as a producer, working with legendary singers and instrumentalists throughout his career. He will be remembered for the legacy of incredible music he left behind.
