Legendary musician and singer Benjamin Orr unexpectedly passed away on October 3, 2000 at the age of 53. Benjamin was born Benjamin Orzechowski in Cleveland, Ohio on August 8, 1947. A gifted musician from an early age, he began his career with The Grasshoppers. In 1978 he joined the rock band The Cars, where he sang lead vocals in popular songs such as 'Just What I Needed,' 'Drive,' and 'Magic'. In addition to performing with The Cars, he released three solo albums and also contributed to several other musical acts. His soulful words, emotion-filled voice, and impact on the music industry have inspired countless musicians all over the world. His legacy will live on forever.
