Barry Seal (6 August 1939 - 19 February 1986) passed away on 19 February 1986 at the age of 46. Barry Seal was an aviator and drug trafficker, and an informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). In the 1970s, he became a notorious drug smuggler for the Medellin cartel and worked for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Although he sought to control the contents of the smuggled items, he was eventually convicted in 1983 of drug smuggling, earlier acquitted of similar charges, and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Seal was later released for his cooperation with the DEA in providing evidence about drug trafficking organizations in Central America. Barry Seal left behind a wife and three children at the time of his death.
