Barbara Walters (1929-2022), a trailblazing television news journalist, died on December 30, 2022, at the age of 93. Barbara was born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 25, 1929. She attended Sarah Lawrence College and graduated with a degree in English. During her early career, she held various positions at CBS and NBC, and became the first female co-anchor of an American news program in 1974. Barbara was a prominent fixture in the news industry. During her five decades in television, she hosted ABC’s 20/20, The View, and The Today Show. She was the first woman to serve as a network news anchor and has been inducted into multiple Halls of Fame in recognition of her career accomplishments. Barbara was a best-selling author and prolific interview, having conducted interviews with various dignitaries including six US presidents and war correspondent Martha Gellhorn. She will continue to be remembered for her lasting influence on the American television industry.
