Anne Buydens, a long-time resident of Los Angeles and a brilliant businesswoman, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2021 at the age of 102. Born in Belgium, she spent the majority of her life living in the United States, having moved to the US with her family at a young age to escape war-torn Europe. She demonstrated a remarkable ability to transition from one culture to another, quickly becoming an integral part of American life. Well-known for being the second wife of Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas, Anne was equally accomplished in her own right, achieving a successful career as a costume designer. She was also an active philanthropist, working alongside Kirk Douglas in their charitable foundation, the Douglas Foundation. Anne was a remarkable woman, with an impressive career and an immense zest for life. Her devotion to her family and her unwavering commitment to making a difference in the world are an inspiration to us all. She is survived by her son Peter and daughter-in-law Lisa, brother Charles, son-in-law Bernie, and grandchildren Cameron, Tyler, Ryan and Kelsey. Her legacy will survive through friends, family, and the many lives she touched throughout her life.
