Anandi Gopal Joshi (1865–1887) was an Indian social reformer and one of the earliest female physicians of India. She was born in Maharashtra and obtained her degree in medicine from the Women's Medical College of Pennsylvania. After returning to India she worked at a sugar factory as an assistant doctor and later opened a clinic. She was an advocate for women's education and was a pioneer in raising awareness of the importance of self-knowledge. Anandi Gopal Joshi passed away on February 26th, 1887, in Kalyan, India, at the age of 21. She is remembered as an inspiring and brave advocate for women's rights in a time when the traditional roles of women were suppressing them. Her legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those she touched and through her work to break barriers and make positive changes in her community.
