Alfred Rosenberg, an influential Nazi theorist, died on October 16th, 1946, at the age of 53. Born in Tallinn, Estonia, Rosenberg initially studied architecture at the University of Moscow and worked as a student journalist. Rosenberg moved to Munich in 1919 and eventually became a prominent figure in the Nazi party, serving as the head of foreign affairs for the party’s ethnic German National Socialist Workers’ Party in 1930. Rosenberg was appointed as the Leader of the Reich Ministry for the Occupied Eastern Territories in 1941, and served in various Nazi positions until the fall of the Third Reich. He was arrested by the Allies and put on trial, where he was found guilty for war crimes and crimes against humanity. He was executed on October 16th, 1946. Alfred Rosenberg played an important role in Nazi ideology and anyone researching the history of the Third Reich must include him as part of their studies. He will be remembered by history for his strong beliefs and actions.
