Albert Finney, a British actor acclaimed for his roles in Tom Jones and Skyfall, passed away on February 7, 2019, at the age of 82. A five-time Academy Award-nominee, Finney had a career that spanned over five decades, appearing in some of the most recognised films of his era. Finney was born in Bradford, Huddersfield, England on May 9, 1936, and made his screen debut in 1960 as a saucy young Romantic in The Entertainer. After garnering attention from critics and audiences alike, he went on to appear in iconic films such as Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1960), Tom Jones (1963), which won him a BAFTA, and Murder on the Orient Express (1974). In the 1980s, he shifted from film to theatre, appearing in stage productions of Orphans (1985) and A Man of No Importance (1991). His performances on stage led to his being awarded with the CBE and Knight Bachelor in the 2000s. Finney also returned to the big screen in the 21st century, taking on the role of Kincade in the James Bond film Skyfall (2012). His legacy lives on in the multitude of performances he left behind.
