Agnes Moorehead, an American actress, died on April 30, 1974 at the age of 73. Agnes was best known for her role in the television series Bewitched, in which she played the comical and often befuddled character of Endora. She also had a thriving career in the Golden Age of Radio, performing in over a thousand broadcast programs. In addition to radio, she appeared in many films, garnering an Academy Award nomination for her performance in the 1944 film Mrs. Parkington. Later in her career, Agnes continued to act on the stage, taking starring roles in both Broadway and Off-Broadway plays. Throughout her nearly forty year long career, she achieved a great deal of recognition from her peers, including a 1967 star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Agnes is survived by three sons, Sean, Robert, and William.
