Adam West, beloved actor, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2017. He was 88 years old. Adam is best remembered for his iconic portrayal of Batman in the ABC series from 1966 to 1968. His cleverly comedic take on the character made him a true pop culture icon and led to generations of fans all over the world. West began his acting career in the early 1950s, appearing in classic television shows such as Maverick, The Rifleman, Surfside 6 and The Life of Riley. He later starred in the 1960s movie, Robinson Crusoe on Mars, and several comedies including The Marriage of a Young Stockbroker and Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century. West's career resurgence came when he once again donned the cape and cowl to voice the character of Batman in myriad television shows, movies, specials and animated series such as Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, and The Batman. His portrayal was once again met with much acclaim. Adam will be remembered for his optimism, infectious spirit and positive attitude, as well as his memorable performances throughout his storied career.
